The film is one part of a wider movement. These are the campaigns and organisations working on the issues at its heart — the right to protest, the rights of juries, and solidarity with those imprisoned for peaceful action.

Hundreds gather in Trafalgar Square at a Lift The Ban vigil, a 'Quakers for Peace' banner and Palestine flags rising from the crowd

A companion work

Requiem For Protest

A short film series and video installation documenting the repression of UK protest rights following the proscription of Palestine Action. Made by The Line We Crossed director Liz Smith with composer Kim Halliday — after they watched police remove hundreds of peaceful protesters from Trafalgar Square during the ‘Lift The Ban’ vigils — it unfolds across four musical acts, reimagined as a darkened room for reflection on what is being lost.

Page75 is seeking venues to host Requiem For Protest, as a continuous installation or a single screening.
